As a legislative analyst wrote the bill requiring the substitution of generic equivalents for more expensive brand name prescription medicines. This bill passed the Florida Senate 40-0, the Florida House 120-0, was signed into law by then Governor Askew and went onto be adopted word-for-word by most if not all the remaining forty-nine states.
This one piece of legislation has saved the American consumer more than any other at any level. Most if not all other bills are about spending money. This bill is the basis for the Wal-Mart $4.00 prescription program. It has literally saved billions. If it had not been written perfectly, it would not have passed and would have gone to some committee to "think about it.
"As a business person made over 20 trips to the Orient in trade missions to arrange for the importation of goods. Mac owned and operated his own 200 MPH complex Cessna all over the country in pursuit of new clients for his merchandise business. (He got them.)
